It’s a tale as old as time: A creative but exhausted-by-her-toxic-day- job-and-life-in-general pop culture loving girly finds herself amidst a crisis. She dusts off the iPad and starts to draw, at first just self fulfilling little doodles here and there, but then, in a moment of brilliance, she drew the perfect tattoo for an upcoming concert (we’ll let you guess which one), decided to create hundreds more (as one does), listed said item on Etsy, and well…The rest, as they say… well, it was her, she was the problem, it was her, and her instantly relatable and lovable products. Everybody agrees! Thus began the rooting for our hero of relatability: MangoIllustrated.
Now just a few short years since that fateful Etsy listing, Katie Valentine has grown MangoIllustrated into a full-blown stationery and gift brand with a toast to all things pop culture and millennial girlhood. Around here the playful is the profound and seeing someone pick up a product and say “this is so me” is music to our ears.
Fun Fact: MangoIllustrated is named after my corgi, Mango. An illustration of her was the first piece of art I ever shared publicly so I thought it fitting to name the brand after her.
