Karley Mott Jewelry began its journey in January 2010 under the name Loubird Handmade, a tribute to my dad, lovingly nicknamed “Loubird” by his best friend. At the time, my kids were just 4 and 6, and I was deep in the season of motherhood, creativity, and building something meaningful with my hands.
What started as a hobby quickly grew into a thriving small business. My work was sold in boutiques in several states, featured at trunk shows, and shared at local events, all rooted in my passion for vintage materials and thoughtful craftsmanship. As the brand evolved, so did its name—eventually becoming Karley Mott Jewelry, a reflection of both personal growth and creative confidence.
In 2018, health challenges forced me to step away from jewelry-making. I lost strength, dexterity, and the fine motor skills required to create—eventually unable to grip pliers, hold my stamping hammer, or even write properly. A few years later, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor, offering long-awaited answers to what my body had been trying to say all along.
In December 2025, I had brain surgery. A couple of weeks later, something remarkable happened: I was knitting again. Soon after, I picked up my pliers—with ease. Creating, once again, felt possible.
Today, just 2 months after my craniotomy, I am reopening with renewed purpose and gratitude. This has always been about more than jewelry—it’s about resilience, legacy, and the quiet power of coming back to what you love.
Every piece is made with intention, heart, and a deep appreciation for the hands that create it. Soon, I will be adding my mixed media collages on canvas in the coming weeks as well.
