Fair Share Publishing is an independent children’s book publisher built on a simple belief: creators and parents deserve better.
We’re a traditional publisher, which means we invest in our books and never ask authors or illustrators to pay to be published. But unlike most traditional publishers, we offer creators 50% royalties, retain their subsidiary rights, and print every book in the USA.
Our catalog focuses on picture books that are educational, funny, heartfelt, and center authentic voices and perspectives. We publish stories that reflect diverse communities, spark curiosity, and subtly offer lessons without being preachy. From dad joke battles to space exploration guides, our books are designed to delight kids and grown-ups alike.
Every Fair Share book includes a QR code that links to free digital and audio versions, plus robust educational backmatter and activities for families and educators.
We print exclusively in the USA to reduce our environmental footprint and support ethical labor practices.
Fair Share was founded by Nathan Bond, an illustrator, educator, and current faculty member at Parsons School of Design. The company runs on transparency, equity, and a commitment to supporting underrepresented voices in children’s publishing.
Every book we publish is a vote for a fairer, more equitable industry.
