I’ve always loved bright, beautiful stained glass windows and how they play with sunlight, and I’ve really enjoyed creating my own version with thread. This is one of my most ambitious patterns to date and uses 19 different colors of DMC embroidery floss. You can of course, use fewer or even more. I included rainbows in my design (love is love!) and some cheerful flowers. When stitching, I drew color inspiration from La Sagrada Família in Barcelona and St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague. I’m really proud of how this hoop turned out. I think she’s gorgeous! Aside from beauty, I love this hoop as a way to commemorate a special trip, retirement destination, baptism, or wedding, whether for yourself or a lucky gift recipient.

This modern embroidery pattern is meditative, straightforward, and satisfying. It uses only a couple of basic stitches to great effect. I provide suggested DMC thread colors plus stitch suggestions, but I encourage you to be creative and choose your own!
